Dress Code

As outlined in the student planner:

The purpose of the dress code is to foster a safe, respectful learning and teaching environment.

HAVE TO wear:

  • Clothing that covers the body in a manner that no undergarments or private parts are showing
  • Clothing such that the midriffs are covered at all times
  • Pants, shorts, and/or leggings/tights are to be opaque (not able to see through)
  • Indoor shoes

MAY NOT wear:

  • Hats, bandanas, etc. indoors
  •  Oversized arm/neck holes in shirts or clothing that reveal visible undergarments and private parts
  • Inappropriate graphics/expressions
  • Any clothing or accessories that could be used as a weapon (i.e., metal spikes, chains).

Clothing or gear for medical, religious or cultural purposes can be reviewed with the principal.

Clothing and accessories that promote alcohol, tobacco, drug usage or which display weapons or violence, that contain vulgar, derogatory or suggestive diagrams, pictures, slogans or words that may be interpreted as racially, religiously, ethnically, or sexually offensive and which cause or are likely to cause a disruption within the school environment are prohibited.

At the principal’s discretion, upon arrival to school, students in violation of the dress code will be asked to put on their own alternative clothing. If clothing contains inappropriate language or images, the student may be asked to wear the clothing inside out. Should it be required, students will be provided with temporary school clothing to be worn for the remainder of the day.
